Summer time is spectacular in Northern Michigan. The beaches and parks are endless. I love the more relaxed schedule of not being anywhere at a specific time, or at least not too early. My oldest daughter is five and will be starting kindergarten this fall and I know this will mean having a more locked in schedule. She will have a blast, but I’m a little sad about not just taking her to activities or spur of the moment play dates. Who will take pictures of what she does all day? I’m seriously sad about this. I still have a month to soak in the freedom, but someone still has to work and cook and clean and maybe even needs a break once in a while. Where can I send my kid once a week to part take in activities that SOMEONE ELSE HAS PLANNED? Where two awesome teachers will give my kid attention and keep her busy and learning? Where there are other kids her age to interact, play with and make new friends? Sure, I could send her to a full week summer camp, but being somewhere every single day early in the morning is not on my agenda in the summer. The answer? Creative Play Day Camp with Ms. Melinda and Ms. Justine every Wednesday at Twin Lakes Park from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Each week offers a new theme and “every class includes musical activities, a themed craft and themed snack, outside play time/hiking, stories and more!” I love this idea because it’s not a full week commitment and you can choose which weeks you want to attend. Find out more information on the Kindermusik with Melinda Lise Facebook page and register here to secure a spot for your kids ages three to twelve.
